WEIGHT WATCHERS!

I swiped my credit card today and joined WEIGHT WATCHERS for the 2nd time! I'm at an OUT OF CONTROL EATING STAGE and need some assistance. Maybe the pain in the pocketbook will motivate me to pay attention to what I consume as I'm running out the door or driving in the car! I'm glad I don't have to give up DIET COKE for the program!

I attended my first meeting and realized that I'm not looking forward to all the COUNTING as my brain can't handle that now!

Any suggestions for yummy and quick low point value treats?

Happy 14th Birthday Hunter

On Sep. 12, Hunter turned 14. He had planned a party with a few friends and then his friends would join another group that were also celebrating a birthday of one of Hunter's friends. It was a great plan until the Kansas City Area experienced SEVERE weather. About the time the boys were to arrive, TORNADO SIRENS went off and we all went to the basement and turned on the TV. The watches lasted for several hours however, it did not stop the boys from arriving. We decided it was best for the boys  to sleep at our house instead of heading over to Hunter's friends to sleep in case of more severe weather. It took awhile for Hunter to process the change and we ended up spending 3 hours with the other boys celebrating their birthdays. WEIRD NIGHT!!!!!

The next day, Brandon traveled 3 hours to Wichita, KS for a football game and I took Hunter, Grandma, Grandpa, Carson and Jessie to Red Robin for yummy chocolate raspberry shakes.
Hurricane IKE hit the Texas state and we watched CNN ALL Day to learn more of the devastating damage. So much loss of property for the people of the coast! How will they ever recover.

#58-OTMS Falcons

KU Band Day Parade

Friday night, Brad, Hunter, and Carson enjoyed an evening camping at the annual Father's and Sons at Lake Clinton in Lawrence, KS.

Jessie, Grandma and Grandpa, Paul Platt (Brandon's hometeacher) and I cheered the BVN Mustang football team and the band at a Friday night game.

Saturday, Brandon played in a JV game. It wasn't winning weekend as both games were lost. After the game, I dumped Jessie off at Mom's house and sped over to Lawrence KS where Brandon marched in the KU Band Day Parade. The CAMPING boys met us on the sidelines and we watched as schools all over North Eastern KS paraded and played their band instruments. The weather was beautiful and the music was inspiring. I love marching season.

(Notice the picture of the BAND DIRECTOR in the Golf Cart! Priceless. One of the bands was so small that I could fit the entire band in ONE FRAME--the picture is of their BACKS!)

Video of BVN band and football

Because Brandon is also in marching band, he is easily recognizable when marching at half time in his football uniform. At the showcase of Fall athletes-MUSTANG STAMPEDE--the band did not wear their uniform so he was REALLY easy to SPOT!

Let the SEASON begin

Summer high temperatures were swiftly replaced with sharp winds this week as
football season started!

Dew drops on dropped passes
Raindrops on people's faces
Bags filled with goodies to entertain the youngsters
Listening to commentary from Grandpa on the plays
Watching Jessie dance to the sounds of the High School Band
A thermos filled with hot chocolate to warm our cold fingers and toes
Watching Brandon and Hunter on the side-line wondering if they will play this GAME?
Listening to the BVN band at Half Time and KNOWING where Brandon is because he is only
1 of 2 kids in a football uniform!!!!!

22 and 78--Those are the numbers to watch this year!!!!!

Jessie's FIRST day of pre-school

I tried to keep Jessie looking clean and fresh on her first day of preschool, but notice all the toothpaste stains on her denim dress. Believe me, we aren't as diligent as getting her to brush her teeth as we were the first 2 kids, but when she does, she goes all out.

Labor Day at Chick-Fil-A

Brandon's favorite restaurant, Chick -Fil-A, gave away their NEW chicken strips on Labor Day to fans who wore football clothing. We went 2 times to get the yummy, fat-coated cholesterol inducing chunks.
Hunter and Brandon hung out with their friends and Brad, Jessie, Carson and I found a new walking trail. While at the local pool for the LAST time, Hunter got stung by the same wasp twice!  Ouch.
