Gooey Brown Substance--Easter videos

I just changed a load of wash and discovered a goey brown substance stuck to the bottom on the dryer. Jessie hasn't been going poop on the potty consistently since we started training 3 weeks ago and I thought, YUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!  Not more poop to clean up! Luckily it was some leftover easter chocolate someone had stored in their pocket for easy access!  My day is saved!

Funny Easter Videos of 2008

My sister Tanya and 3 kids spent Easter with our family. The weather cooperated enough to enjoy an outdoor hunt. The Easter Bunny hid the eggs in some very clever spots. Easter dinner was deliciously prepared and beautifully displayed by my talented Mother. Brad, Brandon, and Hunter have been singing in our ward choir for several years-  only 3 other boys sing regularly! The number they prepared for Easter was so beautiful and well-presented. I was so proud of them for singing and adding to the spirit of the program.

My father continues to attend weekly therapy for his shoulder surgery, although progress is slow. His bleeding ulcer is not bothering him currently, but you never know.

Thrilling basketball finishes from some great teams amaze our family as March Madness continues.

Staying home for Spring Break this year proved to be a good idea as Jessie was sick with a 4-day flu/vomit virus. Imagining travel with her in that state makes my stomach curl!

Brandon made a lot of progress on his Eagle Scout project as well as playing basketball at the rec center; Hunter, Carson and I enjoyed eating a Chocolate Bag from McCormick and Schmidt (the boys have been hearing how "heavenly" the dessert is since I turned 40 two years ago and discovered it); Brad and the boys had a "movie marathon" day and survived male bonding; March Madness started and the fever struck in our house-GO JAYHAWKS!!! I just know they will add "bracketology" to the dictionary if they haven't already.

Happy Easter!

Carson, Jessie and I visited the Easter Bunny and rode the horses on the carousel at the Mall. For an ice cream cone, I can still convince Carson to visit the Easter Bunny.

POTTY TRAINING

For 2 weeks, we have been working on potty training Jessica--my LAST experience. She has mastered the PEE part, but is struggling with POOP!  Even though we put her on the potty for an hour and read books before bed, she saves the poop when she is in her bed! A special surprise for us! Finally, last night she HIT the pot. We only hope it wasn't an ACCIDENT!

Did I mention that it was my LAST. I am rejoicing! I never imagined 21 years ago that I would be potty training a toddler and assisting a 16-year-old with an Eagle project. It doesn't get any better than that, people!
Speaking of a 16-year-old, Brandon had his first BLIND date with 7 other members of his priest quorum. Without much effort on the guys part, their youth advisor arranged for another group of girls to be "available" on a Wednesday night. They came to our house, played games, and made dessert. Everyone had a great time. Brad nor I got to see the event as he was working and I had to drive kids to youth group

Cousin Time for Spring Break in '08!

Tanya's family spent Spring Break with Mom and Dad and we benefitted as well!

Nate, Scott, Jessie, Tanya and I visited Kaleidoscope in Downtown Crown Center. Fun Fun

Celebrating Jessie's 3rd birthday

My Dad is recovering from yet another shoulder surgery. He is also suffering from stomach problems and recently had a colonoscopy and throat scope. Jessie tried to cheer him up on her birthday.

Jessie loves her new ponies she got for her birthday. The large purple unicorn is her favorite and she loves to cover it with blankets and give it pillows for resting. She even took it to grandma's, strapped in a seatbelt.
Sunday evening, 2 families gathered to help celebrate Jessie's 3rd birthday. Even though sickness prevented others from coming, we managed to have 12 kids partying in the house.

I recently complete a video of her from birth to 3 months. I used I-Movie and had a great time with a new hobby.

FOAM IN THE NOSE

Two weeks, after a particularly long bubble bath, Jessie continued to smell as if she'd gone #2! Another attempt was made to wash the awful odor off, yet it continued to linger long after towel drying Jessie, combing her hair and clothing her.  I began to wonder if she had developed the worst case of "Babie's breath" imaginable, when a "light bulb" went off in my head!  Rotten FOOD was the smell that was enveloping her tiny little body, particularly  her NOSE! Brad was home and quickly did an "emergency exploratory" surgery in her nose and discovered that a pair of tweezers works quite well for such emergencies. A large piece of MEMORY FOAM was extracted from Jessie's nostril. At least she was "comfortable" with the extra mass in her nose. Come to think of it, Brad's pillow was missing a piece of foam for quite some time!

Amazing what a smell a small piece can make when placed in just the right place!

3-year-old Jessica learns new words
