TURNING 50: June 30, 2016

On the day I turned 50, I took this picture of Jess and I at her last day of "STARTALK" Academy. Jess spent four weeks learning the Chinese culture and language during this FREE program.

My oldest sister, Chris, sent me these custom-made M&M's for my 50th birthday!!! GREEN AND BLUE chocolate with my name on them!!!

My three sisters and parents and my own family spent a week together reuniting and celebrating. I gathered my Mom and sisters and we spent an afternoon organizing, sorting and archiving artwork created by my mother!! We found so many treasures including LOVE LETTERS written by my father to my mother during their courtship. We even had my Dad read the letters out loud in front of the grandkids who would indulge him.

I uploaded ALL the artwork to my DROPBOX account. Here is the link::

We enjoyed the sentiment written on this document concerning caring for SPOUSES!!

These are pages from a pamphlet directed to youth during the 1960's!!!

We had a BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION and my nieces and nephews sang to me and we enjoyed a lovely home-cooked meal by my Mom!!

We played games in the evening and had a fun time!!

Just the adults enjoyed a quiet lunch at Nordstrom Cafe where we indulged in delicious desserts!!!

On JULY 4th: INDEPENDENCE DAY: I hosted 16 guests at my house for a delicious barbecue with grilled meat, veggies, corn, salads and lots more. The cousins loved being outside playing volleyball as the weather was only in the 80's! We enjoyed old videos of past reunions that I have been uploading to YOUTUBE . Brad bought himself a small projection device and we used a sheet to project the VIDEOS large where all could see!!

BRAD TOOK THIS CROWD TO SEE THE ROYALS DEFEAT THE SEATTLE MARINERS!!!

We spent the day at OCEANS/WORLDS OF FUN and even though it was 101 degree heat index, we managed to keep cool at Oceans of Fun!! During the evening hours WORLDS OF FUN was hot--hot--hot!! Tanya and I walked from building to building looking for AIR CONDITION! We got sick on the rides so we just tried to stay cool until the park closed!!

The kids had a BLAST as they did not have to wait in ANY LINES!!

After Chris and Katherine left for home, Tanya and I took our girls for an afternoon of "shopping!" Jess purchased some school clothes and they both purchased accessories! We treated the girls to some delicious desserts!!

YUMMY STRAWBERRY SCONES AND CARMEL CHOCOLATE CAKE!!

The group spent an entire day at KC SCIENCE CITY, Crown Center and we rode the NEW KC STREET CAR for the FIRST TIME!!
