I even started out today by a NEW tactic! At noon, after plenty of sleep and screen time, I hugged Brandon for 3 minutes and said how much a I loved him and missed him during the week and could we spend some time catching up.

Getting TEENAGERS to WORK
When naming the children, did I realize how much I would love to recite their names? Coaxing and proding a teenagers/children to work might be done better if a cattle prode were used, however, a trip to social services doesn't quite fit into the Sat. plans. So I find myself repeatedly stating Brandon's name as he moves from one half-done task to the next, meanwhile, I follow Carson around because he also forgets to complete his task. I have to STAY with him for him to even take 1 trash can

Fall Anxiety
My heightened anxiety could launch a large passenger-carrying balloon into the sky this Fall season as BOTH boys begin playing football! Thus far in life, I've encouraged the boys to explore their musical talent by piano playing, trumpet, and saxophone. Given the dysfunction of our family schedule, taking three boys to SAME lesson was the only survivable option for the last 8 years. I must say it worked for our family well.
Last year, Brandon LOUDLY proclaimed that he wanted to play football. Passing it off as a whim was easy for Brad and I until the boy actually went to ALL the practices and weight sessions and did not give up.

Back to School
Brandon Evans Bishop--11th Grade Begins day at 5:30 AM
Hunter Michael Bishop--8th Grade--Begins day at 5:50 AM
Carson Whitaker Bishop--4th Grade--begins day at 7:30 AM Mrs. Price
Jessica Tamara Bishop--cries when her LAST brother leaves--begins preschool next week
Monday, the children all went back to school and I have spent ALL week trying to adjust or catch up on sleep. Even though the summer is often tiring and filled with activities to keep the children engaged and away from "Screen Time", it is fun. The quietness of the house is not always welcomed. I have many friends state that one day I will miss the NOISE! (I DO)
Brandon and Hunter are both playing football and don't often get home until after 5:30 and then the noise begins again.
Between engaging in Olympic watching and not getting enough sleep, I did read two very good books to pass the time this week.
Both were easy and good reads. I LOVED Three Cups of Tea and would highly recommend the non-fiction story of one's man's mission to build schools in the most violent region of the world.

St. Louis Trip with Grandparents
Jessie and I traveled with my Mom and Dad and visited with a good friend, Gloria Lambert and her husband. We had a "productive" shopping trip at St. Louis Mills one day and laughed, laughed, laughed with Gloria. She is a great hostess and friend.

"The Errand of Angels"
Tomorrow, I will be sustained as the Lenexa Stake Primary President. I've known this for 3 1/2 weeks and it is KILLING me to not say anything--so here it is!
The inspirational, devoted, hard-working, fun, Becki McCloud, was the former president and with her help and other inspired leaders, I chose counselors. Although I have lived in this area all of my life--except for 10 years--I have never served in the Stake. Therefore, choosing unknown sisters from other wards to serve with me was HUGE! Two I have NEVER met, but are thrilled to get to know them and learn of their love of Primary and children.
Throughout my church service and life, I have been richly blessed by many talented, beautiful, caring, creative, thoughtful, organized, and helpful women. In a well-known LDS hymn, it is written,
"The errand of angels is given to women."
Thanks to all the women in my life who are ANGELS!
(these are only a FEW of them)
